What We Do

At STEM GRO, we work to:

• increase diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in S.T.E.M. fields

• build critical-thinking and problem-solving skills and develop innovation, productivity, accountability, self-confidence, and team-work

• prepare the S.T.E.M. workforce of the future

A certified 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, STEM GRO is a S.T.E.M. education-based social service agency that provides after-school and summer-time programs to students historically underserved and underrepresented in S.T.E.M. fields and employment.

Using engineering and design projects that address real world challenges, STEM GRO delivers constructive activities to youth at risk for low self-esteem, drug and alcohol use, and truancy/delinquency. STEM GRO provides students with valuable life and career aptitudes by building critical-thinking and problem-solving skills and developing leadership, creativity, and innovation.

STEM GRO not only provides a strong educational foundation in S.T.E.M. disciplines, but also teaches those core skills that transition to college and career - like building self-confidence and resiliency, cooperation, adaptability, productivity and accountability. Only by cultivating these skills can we prepare today's students to meet tomorrow's challenges.

If we want more S.T.E.M. graduates, we must promote ideas, language, people, and programs that demonstrate relevance and foster a sense of belonging to all students regardless of gender, ethnicity, or zip code.
